The machine produces clean, machined, weld-ready bevels without the thermal distortion associated with flame or plasma beveling. It is designed for use on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum plate ranging from 5/16" to 2" thick. The KBM-28 features an adjustable beveling head capable of producing bevel angles from 22.5° through 55°. At the standard 30° bevel angle, the machine provides a maximum bevel width of approximately 1.10" and maximum bevel depth of approximately 0.95". Its self-propelled design allows the machine to travel along the plate edge while maintaining a consistent bevel and root face, reducing manual labor and improving repeatability on long plate sections. For applications requiring beveling on both sides of the plate, the KBM-28 can be paired with Gullco's KBM-28U underside beveling machine, eliminating the need to turn or flip large, heavy workpieces.
